Pastor Phil Lineberger

Pastor Phil has been serving as pastor of Sugar Land Baptist Church for over 15 years-- joining the staff in November 1995.  After growing up in Texarkana, TX, Phil attended the University of Arkansas where he received his BSBA ('69).  Phil received his MDiv ('75) and DMin ('79) from Southwestern Theological Seminary.  He has pastored churches for 45 years, served as both Vice-President and President of the Baptist General Convention of Texas, Regent at William Jewell College, Dallas Baptist University, and Baylor University.  Phil also served as Vice-President of the Cotton Bowl Athletic Association while pastoring in Richardson, Texas.   Phil and his wife, Brenda, have 3 grown daughters and 10 grandchildren.  

 Scot R Cameron

Scot R. Cameron joined SugarLand Baptist in January 2010 as Associate Pastor of Worship & Arts.  He is native of North Carolina and studied at Appalachian StateUniversity earning a BA degree.  Scot received a MM degree at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in 1995 and immediately began traveling worldwide in fulltime ministry as a concert artist and music evangelist.  Scot and his wife, Amanda, welcomed their first child, Ian Alexander, in October of 2010.  Read more about Scot including his recordings and performances at www.cameronministries.com.

Chris Curran

Chris Curran joined Sugar Land Baptist Church in October 2011 as Associate Pastor for Education & Discipleship.  He is a native Houstonian, having grown up in the Katy area.  He received his BBA from Baylor University (1995) and his Masters of Divinity (1999) from George W. Truett Seminary.  Chris served as a student minister for over a decade before he shifted to adult discipleship.  Chris has been married to wife, Brooke, for 12 years and they have two daughters, Carly and Allie.

Davey Gibson

Davey came to Sugar Land Baptist in August 2009 to serve alongside Debi as Associate Pastor/Students.  Beginning August 2011, he assumed the role of Young Adult Minister.  He grew up in Georgetown, TX and served churches in Central Texas for over 10 years before moving to SLBC.  Davey attended Baylor University for his bachelor & masters degrees earning a BA in Business Administration along with graduate degrees in divinity and social work.  He married Jordan Catt in July 2004 and they have one precocious toddler, William. 

Debi Foley

Debi Foley came to Sugar Land Baptist in June 2008 as Associate Pastor/Students.  Debi grew up in the Clear Lake area of Houston.  She attended Baylor University for her bachelor's degree and Dallas Theological Seminary for her MACE specializing in youth ministry.  Debi married Jeff Foley in January 2011.  They have three dogs, like to play volleyball, and love hanging out with our awesome SLBC Students!

Lisa Keeling 

Lisa Keeling came to Sugar Land Baptist in February 2010 to serve as Associate Pastor for Children.  Lisa has been married to Matt for 21 years and they have 3 children: Steven, a high school senior; Katelyn, a high school sophomore; and Clay, a 6th grader.  Lisa attended Quachita Baptist University for her BA and Dallas Baptist Univeristy for her MACE in Childhood Ministry degree.

Ann Brothers

Ann and her husband, David, joined Sugar Land Baptist in 1982 while the young church (Williams Trace Baptist) was meeting in Colony Bend Elemetary School.  Ann received her BA from Baylor University in 1980.  Ann has worked with preschool children and their families for years as director of the church's children's day out program then came on staff as Director of Preschool Ministry in March 2010.  David and Ann have two grown daughters.

Mary Murphy

Mary joined the Sugar Land Baptist staff in April 2003. Mary and her busband, Ken, have been married for 39 years.  They have  two grown sons and daughters-in-law: Nathan & Melanie in Katy, TX and John & Angie in Dayton, OH.  They are also the pround grandparents to 5 grandchildren.  Mary is currently a student at Rockbridge Seminary.

Cynthia Watts, Staff Pic

 Cynthia accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior at Sugar Land Baptist Church in June 2006, made her first Mission trip to Mexico in October 2006 and knew immediately this was the plan God had for her life. Following 5 years of involvement in local and international Mission efforts, in April 2011, Cynthia took on the role of Missions Coordinator at SLBC. She received her BA from The University of Texas Health Science Center (1992) and is currently enrolled in The BH Carroll Theological Institute working towards a Masters in Religion with an emphasis on Missions. Cynthia has three teenagers, Brandt 17, and twins Matthew and Kristin 14.
